Global primary aluminum production in July was 5.452 million tons, up 0.63 percent year-on-year.

According to the latest data from the International Aluminum Association (IAI), global primary aluminum production was 5.452 million tons in July, up 2.97 percent from 5.295 million tons in June and 0.63 percent from 5.418 million tons in the same period in 2019.

From January to July, global primary aluminum production totaled 37.515 million tons, up 1.2 percent from 37.071 million tons in the same period last year.

In July, Asia (excluding China) produced 343000 tons of primary aluminum, down 7.8 percent year-on-year and up 1.78 percent month-on-month. From January to July, the cumulative output was 2.391 million tons, down 6.78 percent year-on-year.

In July, the output of primary aluminum in the Middle East was 488000 tons, up 1.67 percent year-on-year and 2.95 percent month-on-month. From January to July, the cumulative production was 3.408 million tons, compared with 3.198 million tons in the same period in 2019.

In July, the production of primary aluminum in Europe was 632000 tons, down 1.56 percent year-on-year. From January to July, the cumulative production was 4.374 million tons, down 1.13 percent year-on-year.

In July, China (Valuation) produced 3.131 million tonnes of primary aluminium.
