World Steel Association: Global crude steel production fell 2.5 per cent year-on-year to 0.1527 billion tonnes in July 2020

World Steel Association: Crude steel production in the 64 countries included in the World Steel Association's statistics fell 2.5 percent year-on-year to 0.1527 billion tonnes in July 2020. As the impact of the new crown outbreak continues, many of the production data released this month are estimates, and we may revise the data in next month's production report.
In July 2020, China's crude steel production was 93.4 million tons, up 9.1 percent from July 2019. Japan's crude steel production in July 2020 was 6 million tons, down 27.9 percent from July 2019. South Korea steel production in July 2020 was 5.5 million tons, down 8.3 percent from July 2019.
In July 2020, total crude steel production in the EU was 9.8 million tonnes, down 24.4 per cent from July 2019. Germany's crude steel production in July 2020 was 2.4 million tons, down 24.7 percent from July 2019.
U.S. crude steel production in July 2020 was 5.2 million tons, a decrease of 29.4 percent compared to July 2019.
In July 2020, CIS production was 8.1 million tonnes, down 5.8 percent from July 2019. Ukraine's crude steel production in July 2020 was 1.8 million tons, down 1.9 percent from July 2019.
Turkey's crude steel production in July 2020 was 3.1 million tons, up 7.4 percent year-on-year.
